The Next Generation of Glass Work
Over the years, Larry has worked in many art media. Glass blowing, ceramics, screen printing, small metals work, faux finishes, car detailing and more.
His Christmas tradition for 20 years, or more, was to make art for everyone in the family.
One year, he used his expertise in faux finishing skills to turn wooden jewelry boxes into marble jewelry boxes. We each have a clock with Richard Nixon's portrait and the numbers spell out "I Am Not A Crook." Other presidential art included posters of Lincoln/Obama and a second of George W Bush/Alfred E Newman.
This year he took his grandkids to Farmer City Glass for their first hot glass experience. Everyone, from 9 to 25, got to make a paper weight using different techniques and colors. It was an exciting surprise for all the grandkids and highlight of Christmas vacation.
